MemberSuite doubling workforce, leasing new space

ATLANTA - March 3, 2017 - Published by The Atlanta Business Chronicle

Following an $11 million Series B investment last year, Atlanta-based MemberSuite is bulking up and moving to roomier digs.

The association management software provider, backed by AOL co-founder Steve Case, will double its workforce to 100 employees.

To accommodate the growth, MemberSuite has leased more than 17,000 square feet — one floor — at 47 Perimeter Center East in Dunwoody.

MemberSuite develops software that helps trade associations manage fundraising, event planning, accounting, dues-collection and other functions. The company delivers its web-based, back-office software on a subscription basis.

MemberSuite, launched from CEO Andrew Ryan’s basement in 2010, has raised nearly $20 million in venture capital, so far. Investors include Case’s Washington D.C.-based Revolution Ventures, Fidelis Partners, Angel Investment Management, Accomplice Partners, and Alerion Ventures.

The startup is chasing a large market — there are 150,000 trade associations in the United States. MemberSuite serves mid-size to large associations, those with at least $1 million in revenue.

Bennett Gottlieb and John Thornton of CBRE Inc. represented MemberSuite in this transaction. Perimeter Center East, comprised of three buildings, is owned by Grubb Properties.
